Chicago Night on the Town

To celebrate their 20th (!!) wedding anniversary, Craig planned a surprise for Marcia. One day we took off for Chicago (Craig, Marcia, Eric, Mary Anne and me) - for an evening of dining at Charlie Trotter's. Craig and Marcia's friend Mary (a doctor in LA) flew in for the occasion. We met her to watch fireworks and then we went to her parents' apartment at Marina Towers before heading off for Charlie's. This is the view from her parents' patio.

Those of you who have known me for a long time know something of my history as a struggling, single mom. If, 30 years ago, someone would have told me that I'd be celebrating with my sons in this fashion, I would have told them they were dreaming. My family and I have come a long, long way!
